My pronouns: He Him His. I live in Wheeling, Illinois, a suburb about 45 minutes north of Chicago, and I work at Libertyville High School as the supervisor of the English department. I have been teaching since 1988 and am so exicted to partcipate in this course since it is a marvelous opportunity for me to learn and grow. I am excited to know that teachers at my school are eager to learn about take-aways I bring back to them from the institute - my partcipation will have an impact beyond just me. When I am not teaching I spend a lot of time reading (currently: The Free World by Menand; Robopocalypse by Wilson), watching movies (recent favorites: Mank; Avengers Endgame), spoiling my dog Dexter (boxer mix), trying to grow a garden (the zucchini is off to a good start!), and enjoying my family (I have three sons). Something fun: I grew up in Chicago, IL, my wife grew up in Long Island, NY, and one magical summer we met and fell in love in Malibu, CA. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you better this summer!
