Yes! You might also be interested in Zeina Abirached who has a similar line-drawing style to Marjane Satrapi, but writes about her experiences in Lebanon. And if we're talking about classics, Joe Sacco's Palestine is really one of the first and foremost graphic novels to represent this area to a mass audience. There truly is (and thankfully) an explosion of writers/illustrators, so I'm excited to see what will keep coming out!

I was particularly struck by Dr. Toorawa's comment about how he has never assigned a graphic novel that has gone unread.
