Hello everyone!

I'm Claudia (she/her) and I'm thrilled to be joining you all this summer! After the year we've had, I can't imagine anything better than a full immersion in arts and literature for a while! I'm a musician and performer with degrees in English, music, and theology, and this institute speaks to all those loves. (I'm also really looking forward to being a student again and not the one in charge!)

I teach AP English Lit (12th grade) and Honors English 10 here in Crozet, Virginia (just outside of Charlottesville). When I'm not in the classroom, I'm happiest curled up with a book, or cooking for friends and family, or watching sports while doing needlepoint (which probably qualifies for unusual / unexpected). I have a beautiful daughter who is a 4th-year art/art history major and my constant inspiration. One last thing that you should probably know is that I'm a bit of a techno-phobe. While I've been forced to learn a lot about it this past year, I've also been known to blow things up. I remain a card-carrying Luddite which is probably best for all.
